Hof

MARELD and OKIDOKI got 3:d prize in the masterplan competition in Hof, Bayern. The competition was about densifying the central area around the old spinning mill and transforming the main building. Central issues was to connect and design the green infrastructure and the public spaces, not least the memorial site for a synagoge that was demolished during the Crystal Night in 1938.

The concept of our proposal ”Mehr licht – unter uns” is to connect the site with the surrounding town with new housing blocks, public space and intimate streetscape. The old factory becomes a central monument and focal point. A new connecting green promenade sweeps through the area. The general design and public space are based upon different ecological strategies and resilience.
