The expansion of Färjenäsparken has started

During last week the expansion of Färjenäsparken started! It was also the starting shot for relocation of “Västlänken trees”, which have been temporarily moved to Tollered before the construction of Västlänken.

The work began with about forty “Västlänken trees” being relocated in the park. It’s mainly oaks that previously stood outside the Gothenburg Opera, Casino Cosmopol and at Kanaltorget and Regionens hus. Besides oaks there was also trees as Swedish whitebeams (that previously stood at the World Culture Museum), small-leaved lindens and crabapples (from Kvarnberget) and cherries and pines (from Korsvägen) which will have new permanent places in Färjenäsparken.
