We’re happy to welcome Fabian Narin as new studio manager for the Øresund office! Fabian has previously managed a smaller architectural/engineering office in Copenhagen and during recent years he has been working as a project leader for one of Sweden’s largest consultancy firms. Fabian is educated as a civil engineer at Chalmers, holding a master’s degree in structural engineering and building performance design.
Are you, like us, a little curious about Fabian? He has answered some questions below:
What made you apply for MARELD?
MARELD is exciting for me as I like my working environment to be dynamic and progressive. I have an opportunity here to build a team and an office out of Malmö, which I am eager to get started with. With MARELDs track record we have a good position for future works and collaboration.
Do you have a special interest within landscape architecture?
My interests combine architecture and engineering, and that is where my strengths lie – leading projects where architecture and landscape architecture bridges to engineering. All parts must work to achieve the best results on time, on budget and to the expected quality. Furthermore, social and active landscape architecture interests me. I hold a long history as a skateboarder and have worked extensively with skateparks and active urban environments across Europe.
Are you working on or going to work on some exciting projects?
Right now, we are working with the city of Linköping on the refurbishment of Sweden’s oldest (modern) concrete skateparks, complete with a new “Neighbourhood park”, a street- and event plaza, service buildings and installation. The project also includes a public art-project where a selected artist has worked in collaboration with the project team to compliment the project with “art in the park”! Hopefully the MARELD team will be employed to follow the project all the way through production and construction stages through to final inspection.
Other than that, I can’t wait to get up to speed with the office in Malmö.
